又有人发现了新的iGoogle界面，整个界面更趋近于新的Google风格，而且在搜索框下方也放置了一些常用的下拉条菜单和按钮。不过左侧的侧边栏只能放置聊天widget：

Google Buzz 终于迎来了自己寿终正寝的那一天。这个基于 Gmail 的服务几乎没有活人在用。Google 官方博客说道：

我们从类似 Buzz 之类的产品身上学到很多，我们会用学到经验来充实并扩展其他产品的视野，比如 Google+。

Buzz 上的内容今后可以通过 Google profile 浏览，用户也可以通过 Google Takeout 在 Buzz 彻底歇菜前导出自己的 Buzz。啥时彻底歇菜？“几周内”

Buzz 的悲剧祸不单行，还有其他服务殉葬：

  • 代码搜索和其 API 将在2012年1月15日正式关闭。
  • Jaiku 也将在2012年1月15日正式关闭，Google 承诺关闭之前会允许用户导出他们的数据。
  • iGoogle 社交功能也会在同日移除。iGoogle 和其非社交性的功能会继续保留。
  • University Research Program for Google Search 也会在2012年1月15日关闭。

没人玩的 Buzz 结束了自己的历史使命。那么 Google+ 能做到多好呢？拭目以待。

iGoogle今天也更新了小清新界面，除了正方型的标志性大按钮以外，每个widget标题栏部分只在鼠标悬停上去才会显示出设置下拉按钮。iGoogle的搜索框也增大了，如果你使用Chrome还可看到语音输入的按钮。

iGoogle的搜索框非常简洁，去掉了高级搜索链接和语言工具链接，而“手气不错”按钮只在你搜索时的搜索建议下拉条里出现。

Gmail gadget for iGoogle今天更新了，提供与移动版更接近的体验（感觉就是把移动版给嵌入进来了），速度更快，在小空间里看着更舒服，并加入了搜索和标签等主流功能。默认它会以迷你窗口显示（上图），你也可以扩展到整个窗口大小使用，就有点像是平板版的Gmail了（下图）：

未来几周里，iGoogle里的Gmail gadget会陆续更新到这个新版，自动的。注意，新版必须使用Chrome或Safari这种WebKit内核的浏览器才可以，IE就洗洗睡了吧。

如果看一下Google帮助论坛的话，你会发现这个中国农历gadget每年进入立春之后都不会自动修改农历年份，难道这个不是自动而是手动的？

继Gmail之后，越来越多的产品已经部署上了之前测试过的新版导航条，包括：

  • iGoogle
  • Google Docs
  • Google Maps
  • Google Web Search

Google Calendar、Google Reader、Google News等一大票产品还在使用老导航条界面，估计会在未来一段时间里逐步过渡过来。

不过目前我只能在Chrome里看到新导航条，使用Firefox就看不到，歧视非Chrome用户嘛……

人品爆发的Avery M.在访问iGoogle日本的时候，看到了iGoogle的新界面，应该是正在小范围测试当中。新界面感觉各个gadget更加紧凑，每个gadget在左上角都增加了一个醒目的图标，另外只有在你将鼠标挪到gadget之上的时候才会看到控制按钮。

今天Google宣布为iGoogle推出官方的Google Analytics Gadget。安装之后你就可以在iGoogle里随时看到网站的访问统计了（如上图），包括访客人数、流量来源、内容和目标，观看范围可选7、30或90天。你可以同时添加多个Google Analytics Gadget，然后让他们以不同的报告视图显示：

Graph Your Inbox这枚Chrome扩展可以对你的Gmail进行分析和统计，只要给出一个关键字，或是用Gmail支持的那些搜索语句，即可生成一份统计图表，从你开始使用Gmail开始，直观的告诉你该关键字每个月所出现的频率。使用这枚扩展的前提是在iGoogle里添加一个Gmail应用，并登录你的邮箱。

不过这枚扩展的效率着实不高，它要逐条进行分析，如果你的邮件太多，要等上数十分钟才能看到最终统计结果。我等了10多分钟，才分析到3万多封邮件，实在等不起了，放弃……邮件不多的朋友可以体验看看。

Google Buzz 上的 the.joe.lancaster 最近在使用 Gmail 的时候发现左上角多了一个叫做 Start Page 的链接，链接指向了 http://partnerpage.google.com/?tab=mS ，但是点击后会自动跳转到 iGoogle 。目前尚不清楚个所谓的 Start Page 起始页是个什么路子，应该不是 iGoogle 改名字那么简单，或许是 Google ME 的大门？

UPDATE：感谢大家的提醒，确实想起来 Google Apps 里面有个 Start Page ，链接也是 http://partnerpage.google.com/some.com 的形式，不过 Google Apps Gmail 貌似是没有 Start Page 链接的，而且上面这个截图从 URL 和左上角链接也可以看出是标准的 Gmail。

如果你看到了心仪的 iGoogle 小工具，并且想在不打开 iGoogle 的时候使用它的话，其实我们可以把它们变成 Chrome 扩展。

首先下载这个压缩包 ChromeExTpl.zip。解压之后可以看到三个文件: icon.png ,  manifest.json ,  popup.html 这就是一个简单的 Chrome 扩展所需要的三个文件。

然后，打开可以插入网页的Google 小工具的目录，通过浏览或搜索找到你需要的小工具。

点击 “添加到您的网页”。 然后点击 “获取代码”。

用文本编辑器打开上面解压出的 popup.html，把上面这段代码复制进去，保存。

下面该发布了，打开 Chrome 的扩展程序页面。

点击展开的  开发人员模式， 选择“载入正在开发的扩展程序”，然后选中扩展文件夹，就可以在本机上安装你开发的扩展了；如果要打包成.crx的话，选择 “打包扩展程序”。

2010年环法自行车赛已经于上周六拉开战幕，Google 员工中众多的自行车运动爱好者突发奇想，他们和车队以及 SRM 合作让每位 HTC-Columbia 车队的选手们都背了一个 HTC Legend 手机。这些手机运行着 My Tracks 应用程序，可以实时将车手的位置显示在 Google Maps 上，此外大家还可以通过这个页面或者 iGoogle Gadget 来查看每位车手的当前车速，产生的能量，车轮转速，心率等技术指标。

目前今年的比赛已经完成了三个赛段，第四赛段将于北京时间7月7日19：50分开始。

我用几个GAE打造出了一个山寨版的Google News和Google Fast Flip网站，它有一些独特的功能：

1.Google News新闻条目List比官方的更长。

2.学习techcrunch.com加入Sharethis,Facebook Like,Google Buzz,Retweet Social Networking Button，这样可以一目了然的看到哪些新闻受到更多的关注。而且Buzz出去的新闻都带有图片。

3.竖着Fast Flip看大图片。

4.可以在iGoogle http://goo.gl/0MS9 ，Orkut http://goo.gl/drNV ，Google Chrome Extension http://goo.gl/aK86 , Facebook http://goo.gl/G8fL 上同步读新闻。

5.山寨域名Google-News.net串联各个GAE。 域名Gnews.im随时板凳，等待山寨域名被红牌罚下后上场。

在线旅行向导网站Ruba发表了一篇博客，表示Google收购了他们和整个Ruba社区。不过后来Google则表示他们并没有收购Ruba网站，只是连锅端了Ruba整个团队到Google的iGoogle和其它项目团队里。

Ruba提供一个可以在浏览器里游览全球各个城市著名景点的方式，包括丰富的图片向导，它由创造了数个流行网站的Mike Cassidy创建，Cassidy最得意之作是Xfire，它在2006年以1亿200万美元出售给了Viacom。

Ruba里的向导都是由用户提交的，Ruba会与Google和Flickr的位置服务整合起来，并提供一些示范照片，这很像TripAdvisor。

Google一直想在在线旅游业务里插上一腿，他们的Google Maps已经集成了酒店和酒店价格，并允许酒店为此付费。USA Today还报道说Google正在考虑购买购物软件ITA Software。

Google通过“汇问”服务收集到了Google Apps用户最需要的功能，除了加强现有服务以外，他们会在今年年底给企业用户更多服务，方便他们只用一个Google Apps帐户就可以享受到更多的Google产品和服务。

比如，企业用户将可以通过Blogger发布公司博客，在Picasa Web Albums里分享工程照片，通过Google Reader跟踪行业新闻，通过AdWords发布在线广告等等，所有这些都将可通过Google Apps一个帐户就可以访问，再也不必切换到个人的Google帐户了。从上图来看，似乎至少Google Apps会在年底前加入8个组件：

  • Picasa Web Albums
  • Blogger
  • Google Reader
  • Google Finance
  • Google News
  • iGoogle
  • YouTube
  • Alerts
  • AdWords虽然图里没有，但Google的文章里提到了

Google表示说所有标准版、高级版和教育版客户都可在今年秋季享受到这些新的服务，届时将允许企业管理员来选择是否开通这些新服务。

如上图所示，今天有人发现在部分Google搜索结果里出现了 Add to iGoogle 的链接，点击即可将一个gadget嵌入到你的iGoogle个性主页里。不过与此同时Google还会在你本地存储一个cookie，当你以后访问Google首页的时候，都会跳转到iGoogle，除非你在iGoogle里点击进入经典主页才可以访问Google首页。

出现 Add to iGoogle 的搜索结果链接主要集中于BBC, New York Times, National Geographic, TVGuide.com, NPR, Flixster, Epicurious这些媒体的网站，添加的gadget也是这些媒体自己的官方新闻gadget，目前还不清楚是这些媒体跟Google合作的项目，还是Google自己添加的。

为了满足用户对于个性化首页的需求，Google 于 2005年发布了支持 gadget 的 iGoogle，而 Labpixies 正是第一批为 iGoogle 开发 gadget 的公司之一。在随后的几年内，Google 和 Labpixies 在包括社会化 gadget 在内的若干个项目中紧密合作。结果 Google 越来越觉得 Labpixies 不错，索性决定将其收购。。。

被 Google 收购后，Labpixies 的团队将在以色列特拉维夫的办公室驻扎，着重面向欧洲，中东和非洲地区推广 iGoogle 服务。

Update：根据TechCrunch探听到的消息，这次收购的价格大概在1500-2500万美元之间，而Hebrew则说价格应该是2500万美元。

iGoogle 里的 Google Chat gadget今天开始会将那些你经常通信的人作为推荐好友建议你加他们，Google甚至还会推荐你加Google Translate的机器人，帮助你做翻译。

另外一个新功能，你可以将经常通信的人加到联系人里：

似乎即便是你选择了“只允许我明确通过可以跟我聊天的人才能看到我的在线状态”，以上这些好友建议还是会出现。也就是说，默认情况下Gmail会自动邀请你经常通信的人加入到Google Chat里来，换句话说，Gmail会不经过双方允许决定你应该跟谁聊天比较好。

在添加了这一新功能后，用户可以选择三种预览方式。

如果你的iGoogle中有好几个RSS订阅，你会惊喜的发现它们被设置成了不同的模式，这是Google为了推行这项新改动而将其默认成了不同的显示模式，也方便了用户比较究竟哪个模式更适合自己的胃口。当你决定了想要的模式后，可以在“编辑设定”的下拉菜单中进行修改。

不仅仅是用户会有更好的阅读体验，对新闻的发布者也是一个新的契机：有精美图片的文章当然更能抓住读者的眼球。

这个新功能将率先在美国运行，相信不久就会应用到全球的iGoogle中。

当你在GTalk复制了一段Google Maps的地址打算发给心上人告知约会地点的时候，心上人估计会被那串恐怖的Google Maps吓到。Google今天改进了Gmail Chat、iGoogle Chat和Orkut聊天框里对Google Maps长串链接的显示机制，链接地址不变，但链接文字会转义成人类可以看懂的简短文字（上图）。

比如某个Google Maps链接是：

iGoogle 和 orkut 的聊天功能在今天迎来了一个重大升级，支持了文件传输功能，完全避免了之前需要用电子邮件发送附件给好友的麻烦。整个过程在浏览器中完成，不需要安装任何插件或扩展。我敢说这个功能如果国内银行来做，必然会要求安装若干控件，添加若干完全不靠谱的证书签发机构，外加只支持IE6。。。

稍等，为啥只有 iGoogle 和 orkut 而没有更常用的 Gmail ？据 Google 说对 Gmail 的支持正在紧张的开发中，应该很快了吧。

尽管Google.cn的搜索引擎已经被强制跳转到了Google.com.hk，但并不是说Google.cn这个域名直接就废了。实际上依然有一些服务正常运行于Google.cn域名之上，并可以通过Google.com.hk里的链接直接访问。

它们包括：

可以看到，保留在Google.cn域名的服务还是相当多的，他们都是未涉及到审查制度的功能，所以依然被保留了下来（我唯一抱有疑问的是谷歌博客搜索，实际上它依然存在审查）。

所以并不能说Google关闭了Google.cn，准确的说应该是，Google关闭了Google.cn所有涉及审查制度的服务，将其转到Google.com.hk继续提供服务，只包括三个服务：

本周 iGoogle 和 Orkut 中的 Gtalk 聊天窗口发生了小小的变化，在顶部加入了一行快捷按钮，可以允许用户快速发起视频 / 音频对话。比较遗憾的是，我们最常用的 Gmail 中的 Gtalk 窗口还没有任何变化，当然，工程师提到了：很快就会同步升级的。

为什么呢？Google的Paul做出了解释，他说有些用户直接访问https的iGoogle，以为自己所有的信息传输都是经过加密了，实际却不是这样的，因为就算是https的连接，如果你的某个iGoogle gadget不支持安全加密，那么实际上你传输的信息还是没有加密的。只有当你iGoogle里的所有gadget都支持安全加密时，iGoogle才会重新进入https安全传输。这样做是为了提醒用户，你的某些gadget不支持安全传输。

1.Chrome会占到10%的市场份额。

太乐观了……实际上Chrome到11月也仅有3.93%的份额，年底撑死了能到4%吧。

2.Google搜索引擎将由于Live Search的冲击而失去较大市场份额。

Live Search的重生还算成功，但微软的Bing并未从Google抢来多少人。

3. Google的问答服务会部署到Google帮助论坛里，并成为Google Apps的一部分。

不，也许明年？

4.GrandCentral将在美国公开运营并与Gmail界面整合

实际上现在Google Voice依然没有公开运营（还需要邀请），跟Gmail整合就更别说了，不过Google Voice在美国已经有140万用户了。

5.Google将为非Android设备发布移动浏览器

Google依然专注于自己的Android平台。

6.受欢迎的Google Bookmarks服务将改进管理书签的功能，增加分层标签、分享设置和更多醒目的改进。

Google依然无视他们的书签服务。

7.Google将把一些Chrome的功能搬到其它浏览器里。

Google Toolbar增加了“新标签页”功能，还有Google Chrome Frame可以让你在IE浏览器里使用Chrome引擎来打开网页。

8.Google Translate将与很多Google服务和应用无缝整合

没错，很多很多服务都和Google Translate整合在一起了：Google Docs、Google Groups、Gmail、Google Toolbar、Google Sites、Google Web Elements、Google Search Options、AdWords、Google Friend Connect等等。

9.Google Reader将列出最受欢迎的列表，而且你可以动态订阅OPML文件（别人修改了订阅列表，你也跟着变）

Google Reader出现了popular items功能，iGoogle增加了“What's popular”gadget，而且你可以批量订阅别人的feed，但并非动态的。

10.Google Maps Live——Google的新服务将显示全球的摄像头视频内容，在Google Earth和Google Custom Maps里也可见。

Google Maps确实增加了一个webcams图层，而且有了新的社会化搜索功能，让你找到好友标记出的有趣地点。

11.Google Contacts会成为独立的应用，提供高级搜索并可同步。

确实独立出来了，搜索功能也大幅改进（但搜索中文依然很差！），不过跟手机同步联系人还是比较复杂。

12.Google立志推广Chrome的做法将改变人们对Google的看法。

并不是所有人都喜欢Google在首页强推Chrome浏览器的做法，YouTube和网络上都在抗议。

13.很多Google高级雇员，包括Marissa Mayer会离职。

梅姐还在Google，但很多高级雇员确实离开了。

14.一旦App Engine完整发布之后，Google Apps将越来越有吸引力

Google Apps确实度过了一个不错的年头，但并不是因为App Engine。

15.登陆用户将看到个性化搜索广告

Google确实开始个性化内容广告，并根据你在Google搜索的经历来显示相关广告。

16.OneGoogle——一个新的界面可以整合所有Google应用使你可以轻松的在Gmail、Google Calendar、Google Docs之间切换而不必新开页面，也不会丢失之前的工作。

Google支持论坛里，大家都在热议iGoogle的重大问题。很多人在今天通过移动设备（大多数是iPhone和Android，也有Symbian）访问移动版的iGoogle之后，所有gadget、个人信息、标签页等等全不见了。

这是继昨天iGoogle主页新布局遭到很多用户抗议之后，iGoogle又一次重大失误。

目前Google还没有给出解决方法，目前唯一可以做的就是：别用你的手机访问移动iGoogle了！

上图是老式的iGoogle首页，标签栏都在上方依次排列，而下图则是新式的iGoogle首页，标签栏都被移到了左侧。iGoogle Help论坛里今天是人声鼎沸，有一大票人在反对iGoogle这样的新布局。

实际上iGoogle并不是才这么做的，但之前有解决办法恢复到老式的布局，而现在Google强制所有人都必须使用新的布局了。

Chrome众多数的出的缺点之一，就是没有其它浏览器那样的自动feed探测功能，现在你可以安装这个扩展，只要当前页面里有feed可以订阅，地址栏右侧就会出现一个RSS图标，点击即可选择feed阅读器直接订阅。

今天Google为SeachWiki增加了新的监测工具：SearchWiki Live Stream gadget for iGoogle，你可以将这个gadget添加到iGoogle里实时查看又有哪个网站被人通过SearchWiki而提升或降低了排名，不过不知道我们在gadget里看到的是否真是全部实时的数据。

众所周知，在Google总部有一个大屏幕实时显示人们在Google里搜索的关键字，当初Google内部觉得这个主意非常炫，想做成屏保供大家下载，甚至想在纽约时代广场的超大屏幕上不停显示这些被实时搜索的关键字，但最终被Google领导层否决了，因为他们担心隐私问题。

这个SearchWiki Live Stream gadget其实已经跟实时搜索的关键字Live Stream有点像了，但其实他们的象征意义大于实际意义。

Google Dashboard是一个可以在你的Google Account账户里显示出数据存储情况的新服务。你将很快可以在"my account"页面的personal settings里找到Google Dashboard（如上图）。

Google Dashboard会列出你使用的一切与Google有关的服务，包括你的名字、邮件地址、联系人数目、Gmail收件箱里的对话数、你的Google Profile、你最近的网页搜索历史等等。其实Google Dashboard就是回答了你一个想起来就很恐怖的问题而已：“Google到底都知道你什么。”

Google Tasks服务似乎一直都已配角出现，它没有独立的页面，要么跟Gmail在一起，要么跟Google Calendar在一起，或者是作为iGoogle的gadget来使用，而最近的一次更新也只是为iGoogle里的Google Tasks gadget增加了全屏显示视图。

昨天，在iGoogle的主题库里面出现了一款叫做NoBama的主题，从名字和上面的截图大家都可以明显看出，这个主题明显意在攻击当前的美国总统奥巴。

当然，不久后就陆续有用户举报了这个theme，Google随后将其删除。

要在iGoogle中视频聊天，你需要下载安装这个插件，然后点击聊天窗口最下方的Actions->Start video chat即可。好友名字前面有摄像机图标的表示他有安装好的视频设备，视频聊天进程开始后，用户可以将窗口pop出自由调整尺寸或者切换到全屏模式。

比起Gmail中的视频聊天来说，iGoogle的适应性更强——你不需要一定有一个gmail帐号，只需要有一个Google帐号就可以了。

继澳洲iGoogle开测社会化功能之后，今天iGoogle正式全面社会化，增加19种新的社会化gadget，比如你可以知道谁智力游戏玩的最溜？看看来自朋友共享的赫芬顿邮报新闻，新的YouTube视频，或者看看朋友每天要做什么事，找个他最闲的时间一起出去玩。

你可以在iGoogle新增的Updates标签里看到自己的更新和朋友们的更新，比如谁上传了新照片，新视频，谁共享了什么有趣的漫画等等，你甚至可以直接发表评论而不必打开第三方网站的页面（比如Flickr和Picasa）。开发者们也可以开发新的社会化gadget，或是升级以前制作的gadget使其拥有社会化功能。

值得注意的是iGoogle有一个叫做Timeline的gadget，就是让你发布现在的状态，好让你的朋友也看到状态更新，这不就是twitter吗？

目前社会化iGoogle正在逐渐开放，大概一周之内所有人就都可以体验到了，所以还别着急，再等等。

不过我一直对iGoogle无爱，尽管它什么功能都有，但大杂烩的状态反倒分散了人们的注意力，所谓的社会化并不是说你把功能做出来，摆在那里，人们就跟发疯似的开始上瘾了，Google这些工程师把社会化看的太简单了。Google做的所谓社会化功能或产品最终都走向失败或半死不活的状态（Lively、Knol、Friend Connect等等），完全没有吸引我的力量，就好像微软做的搜索引擎也没有吸引人那种的力量。

我们之前有提到过iGoogle测试沙盒已经在测试社会化功能，而今天Google澳洲宣布为本地的iGoogle用户提供新的社会化功能，这次的重点就在“社会化”上，使你可以直接在iGoogle里看到MySpace、Orkut、Linkedin这些社会化网站的好友更新。

你可以选择联系人里的哪些朋友可以看到你那些具有社会化功能的gadget更新条目，每次更新都会生成一个Updates信息。比如现在有一个叫做Social Photos的gadget，可以显示出你最近在Flickr或Picasa上传的图片，当然这个gadget的目标是显示出你的好友最近上传了哪些图片。

还比如有一个叫做Timeline的gadget，使你可以在时间轴里看到朋友们都在做什么，他们的更新状态等。GoComics可以显示热门漫画，YouTube则显示热门视频，News.com.au可以看到澳洲当地的新闻并与朋友一起分享。如果你喜欢在线游戏也有 Chess、Who Has the Biggest Brain和New York Times Crossword gadget可以玩。如果你是个很有计划的人，可以试试To-Do gadget 。

这些社会化功能将于本周在澳洲iGoogle率先上线，但你只要申请iGoogle测试沙盒也可以体验，开发者可以在这里找到更多社会化gadget。
